I am

Seyed Moheet,

an architect and painter.

Sometimes, it works prefect to shift from one to another, and time to time combining these two together. Put impressions from painting into architecture and vice versa.

Painting is my best favorite from my childhood, I started to do painting as a fun, and then it became a serious part of my life, and still I have the same impression when I’m painting. I learned to paint on my own, and watching the master’s paintings was a useful theoretical exercise.

And then I studied in architecture, and worked professionally in the field of architecture, I found that the painting and architecture have similarities and can completed each other, so I kept on doing both, while the field of architecture included many different factors such as technology and financial issues together with more about sociology, style, and regulations, while painting was more personal.

Sometimes, it works prefect to shift from one to another, and time to time combining these two together. Put impressions from painting into architecture and vice versa.

I’ve worked and lived in Iran, UAE, and Oman and now I’m resident of Vancouver in Canada, These days I’m painting more and more, like many artists in Vancouver that lives in a city which art is a part of daily life. Vancouver is the city that inspiring with its unique nature, and supportive foundations. I had solo and group exhibitions in Iran and Canada as well.

I am interested in the traditional Persian art of calligraphy, in which I believe the pure visual form of words can carry as much—if not more—significance than their linguistic meaning. In "Alphabetic Horses," series I build images using Arabic alphabet characters which, through his fluid application, bridge the chasm between figurative and abstract representation, as well as between literal and aesthetic meaning.
